Life Happens

Isn't it weird how life just happens and before you know it, a couple of months have passed? There's been so much going on and I just haven't had time to jot a line or two. So let's see.......

Well, I finished school, at least for this semester. I'm taking a much needed summer vacation. I finished the semester with a 4.0 GPA, which isn't too shabby with two kids under my feet while I'm doing homework. Actually I'm pretty proud. I was so nervous when I started back to school in January. I had the butterflies and everything................ But it went well, and I'm finally doing something for me, which I really needed. You can only be "just" a wife and a mom for so long before you really start feeling lost.

My son just had his eighth birthday. Darn it, he makes me feel older every time he has a birthday! Is it supposed to work like that? And my baby girl is getting ready to turn 2. She's getting to where she is saying lots of words really well, so now she wants to talk your leg off all day long. I think she gets that from her mom!!! LOL!

Well, enough rambling for now.......... And even though life happens, I will be back soon! Got lots more great things to talk about!

Time In The Country is updated!

Well, after much work and a few long nights, I have done a rebuild on my website and changed hosting. The program I was using before was a complete pain in the tail and my new one is SOOO easy! Love it, love it!

I still kept most of the same pages, but the layout looks alot better. I got surprised by my wonderful friend Lib, who secretly designed a website header and sent it to me to add to the new site. It looks so great! Here's a few new things that I've added:

Would love to have you stop by for a visit! I'm still adding new content almost daily, so I hope there will be a little something for everyone!

As if I didn't have enough to do........

I am now a full-time college student. Geez, that's a scary thing to say! I started back to school last Wednesday to finish my Business Administration degree. I opted to take most of my classes online and through telecourse, but I'm starting to wonder if that was the way to go. Now I have one class on campus three days a week & four classes worth of classwork and homework to do at home with an 18 month old under my feet! Not an easy chore, I can tell ya! What doesn't kill you will make you stronger, though, right?

Some of my classes for this semester are kinda cool, though. Well, except maybe Algebra. Why the heck do I need to know how to solve for "X"? But anyway......

So, on top of being a wife and mom, running my WAHM website, and doing all of the other things that moms do, I now have another full time "job" as well. Boy, my plate sure is about to overflow!

One thing that I think I'm gonna have to learn...............sleep is highly over-rated........

New Year, New Goals, New Me!

Happy 2005!

Okay, so I'm a couple of days late! But Happy New Year anyway!

So the way I look at it, it is now January 3rd. That means that I officially have 362 more days (Lord willing) of this wonderful new year to laugh, cry, love, live and make dreams come true. How could I possibly ask for more?

I'm starting my year off right. I'm starting back to college to finish my degree that I started a few years ago. Due to circumstances that could not be helped (called divorce), I was not able to finish at the time because I moved to a different state and couldn't afford paying Out-Of-State tuition to a new college. So, there it went, right onto the good ol' proverbial back burner.

New life, new circumstances, new determination. So, here I am, going back to school with people 10 years younger than me. Am I nervous? YES! Will I get discouraged by that? NO!

Don't get me wrong, I love my family and I always put them first, especially my beautiful children who are my heart. But the Good Lord has blessed me with a brain, and quite an intelligent one at that (not to toot my own horn or anything). So I don't feel that by putting myself first for once that I am taking away from my family. By doing things to better myself, I will also be able to provide a better life for my kids. And what kind of Mom would not want the best things possible for her kids? Besides, every now and then I have to be something besides Mom. I was Rhonda first, so a little time to be me again will feel really good.

Wish me luck!

It's the Holidays! I'm not supposed to be working!

I told myself that I was going to take a few days off for the Holidays. Well, I did take a couple of days, but only because I've been sick, so that doesn't count!

I've been doing lots of changes and updates to my site, www.timeinthecountry.com. I'm adding some new articles (one of them is about blogging and mentions Blogger.com!) I've also been doing some updates on my Biz Resources, Advertising, and Link Partners pages.

After lots of searching for the right ones, I've added my Message Boards also. I will continue to add more great things within the next couple of days before republishing, so looks like I'd better get to work again. Stop by soon to see all of the great things that I've been working on!

New "Time To Talk" Forums Added!

Time In The Country now has forums!

I know that the holidays are not a great time to start something new and to try to promote it, but I finally had the time to sit down and get the message boards started, so hopefully they will take off soon. I've had a couple of people to join already and will start getting the word out more in the coming weeks, but for now I'm just glad to have them added.

So stop by the new Time To Talk Forums and get to know everyone!

I got my first website award!

Time In The Country has been awarded!

I was just given the "Successful WAHM Award" from The WAHM Connection! To quote Kelly Land, owner of The WAHM Connection, "We have found your site to be useful to WAHMs and others. Please accept our award and congratulations."

I have been putting so much time and energy (not to mention my heart and soul) into building a successful resource site for WAHMs and this bit of recognition makes me feel like it has been worth it!

I'm just getting started and I know that I have a long way to go, but the encouragement that I have received has been so helpful in keeping me motivated.
